This 'response paper' outlines reasons for attending university. After initial attendance of classes, reasons for deciding to attend, and their modification over the first two months of lectures are considered. Factors considered include future income, parental expectations, social opportunities and personal growth. Overall it is concluded that a university education creates the potential for higher earnings and, most importantly, enhances non-monetary aspects of one's life also. 6 pgs.
