Industrialization, Urbanization, Trade, Population and Pollution in China: A Review of the Issues.
This study will explore how China has tried to forge ahead in light of its various internal and external problems, and offer insights as to what might be changed to improve the situation. The study will conclude with the proposition that industrialization, urbanization, trade, population, and pollution, all require the government's utmost attention; but, these are all issues that are linked to a broader problem. In particular, China's attempt to find a third way between socialism and capitalism just does not seem to be working. It has created a multi-speed China, with some regions moving forward and others struggling or stagnating. 15 pgs. 19 f/c. 14b.
