Bush and Kerry: An Analysis of Presidential Debate Performance

This three page graduate essay examines the 2004 presidential debates. The author notes that the presidential debate performances of John Kerry and George W. Bush have been very revealing of their respective characters, their intelligence, and their views of the political process and the role of government. Bush is a self-righteous man who firmly believes that only liberal partisans or traitors could question his leadership, while Kerry is a thoughtful man who is not averse to engaging in political maneuvering if the achievement of a greater good requires it.
