Burgess Model of Urban Reform: An Analysis

This three-page undergraduate research paper examines the Burgess Model of Urban Reform. The author notes that this urban model was developed in 1925 and consists of six concentric rings or zones based upon land use and population demographics. The Burgess Model proved to be useful for urban research and planning for a few decades, but it has become outdated due to a variety of factors, including the mass movement to the suburbs after World War Two and the massive increase of automobile ownership in America.
