Jefferson's Views Towards Slavery: "Notes on the State of Virginia".
This paper explores the views of Jefferson towards slavery as is discussed in his Notes on the State of Virginia. and place these thoughts within the reference frame of the period to demonstrate how Jefferson did not see slavery as the social evil it has since been acknowledged as, but also that he did recognize slavery as a practice that he was unwilling to cease outright through emancipation.
